Hello all; since my computer came down with a fatal case of death, I've been looking at one of those Bannage Difference Engines. Tell me what you think:
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103773 MoBo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128014 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227139 Vid Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130084 Hugely important question here; I've got a 500 watt power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817189005 Is that sufficient to power all those other components? What if I got two of those video cards, would the power supply handle it then?

that power supply would be fine for your setup, though don't even consider getting two of those cards. The performance from a card just $30 more would be many multiple times what an 8600 sli could offer.

Would the power supply be fine for a more powerful card?

Compy has had a string of problems from day one, this last one has me stuck. It freezes up after "Verifying DMI Pool Data................"
It isn't actually stuck ON the DMI, becuase it can load from CD just fine. I have reinstalled XP several times and formatted twice, and I loaded scandisk from the windows repair DOS thingy and it didn't detect any problems with the hard drive. I got this program called memtest x86, and so my RAM is clear. I JUST got the mobo and the CPU, so it shouldn't be those. Anybody got a clue?

I have; most of them assume a problem with the hard drive, but my hard drive isn't coming up with any errors. Plus, i'm able to get past the DMI thing; it freezes immediately afterward (meaning I can boot to CD), but it freezes if I try to boot into a disc.
